Ripple and Privy bring embedded wallets to the XRP Ledger
Ripple and Privy are adding XRPL wallet tools for app builders, letting users and AI agents transact with XRP, RLUSD and other network assets.

Until now, developers had to build wallet infrastructure themselves to add XRPL wallets to their apps. On Oct. 13, Ripple and Stripe-owned Privy announced an integration that lets developers create and manage those wallets through Privy, according to Privy’s announcement.
The change means a payment or financial app can support XRP, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin and other XRPL assets without asking users to connect a separate crypto wallet. Privy’s tools handle wallet creation and transaction signing; users can still export their private keys and seed phrases, The Block reported.
How will developers use Privy on XRPL?
Developers can add the wallet functions to their own products through Privy’s infrastructure. In practice, the integration supports these steps:
- Create and manage XRPL wallets programmatically.
- Sign transactions involving XRP, RLUSD or other assets on the ledger.
- Build payment flows in which the wallet sits inside the app, so users don’t need to manage keys themselves.
That could make it easier for a fintech or payments company to offer stablecoin transfers within its existing app. The announcement does not name a launch partner or give a rollout timetable, so the confirmed development is the new wallet support for developers.
What does this add for AI agent payments?
Privy says developers can also use server-side wallets for agents that hold funds and make payments, including through x402, a standard for paying for online services. That gives an app a way to authorize software to pay for a service as part of an automated task, rather than requiring a person to open a checkout page for each request.
The integration is set to expand over time: Privy says it plans to add policy controls and gas sponsorship, which would let developers set transaction rules and cover network fees for users. Those features are future additions, while wallet creation, transaction signing and support for XRPL assets are the capabilities announced so far.
